Department of Applied Sciences strives for increasing the knowledge, enhancing the critical thinking, ability to change information into knowledge and power of analyzing the things technically of each and every individual of ever changing society through students. We always intend to impart knowledge through a closed knit family of highly competent faculty. Department of Applied Sciences plays a vital role in an engineering college catering to the teaching of basic Sciences and Humanities courses for engineering students of all branches. The purpose of applied sciences in Engineering study is to lay a strong foundation of basic principles of various disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Communication Skills in the mind of the learners, so that they proceed to rest of their years of study with up to date knowledge and training of basic engineering skills. Our Laboratories have been very well established not only to cover complete syllabus but to motivate students to learn beyond the syllabus which definitely develops complete knowledge of the subject (both the practical and theoretical depth of knowledge) and develop skill sets of students to become promising engineers in future. Applied Science & Humanities Notice
It is very well said that “There is no such thing as a special category of science called applied science; there is science and its applications, which are related to one another as the fruit is related to the tree that has borne it.” by louis Pasteur. AS we believe that A structure gets its strength from its foundation and we at MGMCoET believe in strong and solid base. In today's environment, strategies need to be dynamic with a strong root and base. A fresh approach coupled with new ideas can provide the leverage and the power to meet the need and challenges faced by the technocrats’ today. A structure gets it strength from inception and the department of Basic Sciences and Humanities of MGMCoET coincides with these changes.
The labs are fully furnished and well equipped with modern application as per the requirement of the University Curriculum. To give shape of their carrier, department of AS&HU has highly qualified, dedicated and result oriented faculty which are the ladder of their goal. The Department takes special pride in its richly experienced and devoted galaxy of teachers who are always there to contribute their mites towards excellence in all academic activities.
The first and foremost utility of Physics is to identify the fundamental laws concealed within a natural phenomenon and involve them in establishing facts for newer & exciting inventions that form the very ambit of engineering .
The Department of Physics at MGMCOET makes persistent endeavors to help its extra inquisitive learners attain deep insights into this ever happening discipline and the requisite expertise for new ventures by dint of quality teaching, experimental activities in its ultra modern labs and freedom of enunciating innovative thoughts at their disposal for research work following the international conventions.
There has been a paradigm shift in teaching maxims these days, therefore, participation in various national and international conferences is a routine feature within the department. Publishing papers on different topics being globally pondered over is a most cherished pursuit of each and every faculty member. The ongoing research work in the domains of nonmaterial’s, thin films and programmer codes stands testimony to their acumen and zest for expanding mental horizons.
The Engineering Chemistry Lab has a wide range of equipment. The lab is aptly prepared to impart education in Chemistry in a neatly designed, spacious and well-ventilated laboratory with a capacity to accommodate 30 students. The lab is aesthetically designed with polished ceramics tiles, separate balance room and chemical store room.
It provides students with a practical approach towards the various techniques used in engineering application. Practical awareness is inculcated and students are trained both quantitatively and qualitatively during the lab sessions so that their understanding and problem solving abilities can be enhanced.
Major Equipment in Engineering Chemistry Lab are :-UV-Spectrophotometer, Digital Conductivity Meters, Redwood Viscometers, Electrical Balance, Distillation Unit, Digital pH Meters etc.
As per the syllabus of U.P.T.U. each subject has its own importance .As we know this is the scenario of professionals and for this purpose P.C. plays the key role. To meet the need of the corporate world we enable the professionals to dare with it. After going with this subject the students can able to strengthen the soft skills. We are emphasing to Impart knowledge of basic communication skills. Develop confidence and remove stage fear and hesitation. Develop presentation Skill. Sharpen and develop the four skills of communication. Comprehend, converse, interact and participate in any day-to-day events and in professional arena. Improve syntax, grammar and common errors of communication. Improve intonation, stress and body language. Develop proper accent and pronunciation.
